Job summary

Abode Services is seeking a Kitchen Coordinator for our KirkEmergencyShelter/Veterans program in San Jose, CA. The role oversees kitchen operations, meal service, inventory, and volunteer coordination within a homeless shelter environment.

The position requires SafeServ certification, a flexible schedule, and the ability to work some evenings and weekends. Compensation includes full benefits and a strong emphasis on professional development and teamwork.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1 year experience in customer services.
• SafeServ certification and SafeServ trainer certification required.
• Valid California driver's license with clean DMV record.

Responsibilities

• Oversee kitchen operations and supervise meal services at the shelter.
• Manage inventory, supplies, and volunteers; train staff and volunteers.
• Complete required reports, intake/exit procedures, and program data entries.
• Plan and supervise meal preparation, ensure clean kitchen and equipment.
• Maintain safety, food handling standards, and budget compliance.
