Job summary

The Salvation Army Harbor House Shelter in Columbia, Missouri, seeks a Shelter Director to oversee the Harbor House program, including development, implementation, supervision, grant writing and fiscal management. The role requires strong leadership, collaboration with community partners, and adherence to funder requirements.

Responsibilities include staff recruitment and training, budget development, reporting, and ensuring high-quality services while maintaining confidentiality and compliance

Qualifications

• Requires a BA or BS degree in social work, psychology, or other related field.
• Four years’ experience in human service delivery, administration, or management with supervisory/fiscal responsibility.
• Experience with grants and program development is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and operate Harbor House program including development, implementation and supervision.
• Oversee grant writing and management.
• Staff recruitment, development and supervision; fiscal management; and physical plant management.
• Network with community organizations to strengthen partnerships and expand resources for clients.
• Promote Harbor House through coalition building, media relations, and community events.
• Assist in annual budgeting and financial reporting to The Salvation Army and funders.
