Job summary

Friends of Switchpoint provides housing services for homeless individuals and families in Utah, developing personalized case plans to promote self-sufficiency and secure affordable housing within program guidelines.

The position involves intake assessments, ongoing case management, and coordination of Life Skills and budgeting trainings, with an emphasis on HUD program goals and client empowerment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Associate degree required; bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Human Services, or related field preferred.
• At least 1 year of case management or relevant human services experience preferred.
• Experience working with families or individuals experiencing homelessness or housing instability.
• Bilingual (Spanish/English or other language) preferred.
• Valid Utah Driver’s License and reliable transportation required.

Responsibilities

• Completes an initial needs assessment and directs clients to shelter programs, requirements, and consequences.
• Develops a comprehensive client-driven case plan with short- and long-term goals.
• Designs and coordinates Life Skills, Tenancy 101, Finance/Budgeting, and related trainings.
• Maintains client files, documents incidents, and collects data for funding reports.
• Ensures safety of properties through regular tours and coordinates repairs with leadership.
• Collaborates with program staff and external partners to access community resources for clients.
