Friends of Switchpoint is a Utah nonprofit providing housing support for residents, families, and veterans at Harris Village. The Shelter Housing Support Staff will monitor cameras, perform perimeter checks, log activity, and assist with the Good Works Program to maintain a safe environment for residents, visitors, and coworkers.

Qualifications

• CPR certification is required or preferred.
• Human Services experience is preferred but not required.
• Effective note taking and record keeping are essential.
• Computer skills with Office 365 and Google Suite are required.
• Attention to detail is essential for safety and documentation.
• Strong organizational skills help manage daily tasks.
• Physical fitness is needed to climb stairs and move around facilities.
• Ability to work in a team environment is important.

Responsibilities

• Understand the vulnerable nature of the community and show empathy to residents.
• Actively listen to residents’ needs.
• Assist in tracking the Good Works Program.
• Assist with on-site activities for residents.
• Prepare cleaning items for the Good Works Program.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment.
• Perform regular perimeter checks inside and outside the building.
• Lock and unlock door systems.
• Monitor camera systems and log activity.
• Log approved visitors with proper identification.
• Handle security issues by contacting non-emergency dispatch or 911 when necessary.
• Document violations of apartment rules for property management action.
• Document changes in resident behavior for case managers.
• Record incidents or activities posing safety concerns.
• Log use of building equipment.
• Maintain professional boundaries with residents and report conflicts of interest.
• Follow the Switchpoint Code of Conduct.
