Job summary

Friends of Switchpoint Inc. is seeking a full-time Housing Services Specialist to support homeless individuals and families in Utah.

You will conduct intake assessments, develop client-driven case plans, and coordinate Life Skills and budgeting trainings to promote self-sufficiency and housing stability. You will work closely with program staff to ensure safety, maintain client files, document incidents, and connect clients with HUD-aligned resources and community partners.

Qualifications

• The candidate should have experience in client-centered support and case planning.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for counseling clients.
• Experience with intake, needs assessment and coordinating housing services.

Responsibilities

• Performs initial needs assessment and addresses critical needs promptly.
• Guides clients through housing program requirements and consequences.
• Ensures basic nutrition and hygiene needs are met.
• Interviews and counsels prospective Switchpoint clients.
• Develops client-driven case plans with short- and long-term goals.
• Monitors progress and adjusts plans as needed.
• Designs and coordinates Life Skills and budgeting trainings.
• Maintains client files, reports incidents, and collects funding-related data.
• Ensures safety of properties and coordinates repairs with leadership.
• Collaborates with staff and community partners to access resources.
