Job summary

Friends of Switchpoint invites applications for a Microshelter Resident Support role in Salt Lake City. This swing shift (3pm–11pm), full-time position focuses on day-to-day shelter operations, client intake, and ensuring safety and dignity for residents.

You'll supervise volunteers, coordinate meals and activities, manage room checks, and provide crisis intervention and referrals, while maintaining confidentiality and supporting the organization's mission to end homelessness.

Qualifications

• Experience with homeless families in shelter settings preferred.
• Knowledge of domestic violence, mental health, and substance abuse issues.
• Ability to manage volunteers and supervise staff.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day operations of the shelter.
• Oversee medications according to policy.
• Greet and supervise volunteers.
• Conduct client intake and admissions.
• Maintain confidentiality and safety of residents.
• Coordinate, maintain, and distribute donations.
