Job summary

The Salvation Army’s Emergency Lodge in Milwaukee seeks a dedicated Shelter Attendant to supervise residents and maintain a safe environment. Shifts rotate across 2nd and 3rd, with occasional 1st shifts, and include check-ins, intake, and incident reporting.

Responsibilities emphasize safety, confidentiality, basic resident needs, front desk duties, and collaboration with case management. Valid driver's license required; HS diploma with some college preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent, with one year of college preferred.
• Prefer one year of experience working with people who are homeless or low-income or with related issues.
• Valid driver’s license with clearance to drive from insurance carrier.

Responsibilities

• Monitor facility and residents to ensure safety and location at all times.
• Assure safety and security of residents and the facility and monitor all areas.
• Manage front desk, including calls, mail, visitors, and sign-ins/outs.
• Conduct intake and exit/discharge services and document paperwork.
• Maintain logs and inform supervisors of incidents; complete incident reports.
