Job summary

General Dynamics Electric Boat is seeking Sheetmetal talent for entry level and skilled roles at the Quonset Point facility in North Kingstown, RI. This full-time position offers paid training and comprehensive benefits as part of a growing team.

Responsibilities include interpreting drawings, fabricating and installing light gage metalwork, ductwork, and related components. Safety practices and teamwork are emphasized in a collaborative setting.

Qualifications

• Required: High school diploma or equivalent OR 2 plus years of related technical experience.
• Available to work all shifts.
• Ability to work at heights, confined spaces and extreme temperature conditions as required.
• Individuals are required to possess their own basic hand tools.

Responsibilities

• Interpret construction drawings with basic mathematical ability.
• Complete work assignments using company drawings, test documents, technical manuals, shipyard procedures and shop machinery.
• Layout, fabrication, assembly, and installation of light gage metalwork including air-conditioned ductwork, lockers, cabinets, prefabricated bulkheads, doors, furniture and formica.
• Performing joiner work, fabricate nonstructural bulkhead doors and stainless steel trim.

Sheetmetal responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
