Job summary

Oliver Inc. is seeking a hands-on 2nd shift feeder operator to support the Press Department on a fast-paced printing floor. You’ll review the daily schedule, load sheets, set up feeders, and collaborate with the Pressman to maintain on-spec production and strict quality control.

• 1–3 years in printing or manufacturing preferred.
• Working knowledge of press operations and paper handling.
• Mechanical aptitude and comfort with production equipment.
• Ability to follow written and verbal directions accurately.
• Basic math skills including fractions and measurements.
• Strong attention to detail and equipment monitoring.
• Team-first mindset in a fast-paced environment.
• Physical ability to stand, walk, lift, and move materials.

Responsibilities

• Review the daily schedule and stage materials for upcoming jobs.
• Confirm paper stock against load tags and job specs.
• Unload, position, and load sheets into press feeders.
• Set and fine-tune feeder systems, including double-sheet detection and pressure adjustments.
• Continuously monitor paper flow, feeder performance, and press operation during runs.
• Support the Pressman with operation, material handling, and changeovers.
• Maintain ink and water levels to ensure consistent print quality.
• Clean and care for press components (blankets, supplies) to reduce downtime.
• Retrieve, label, and store printing plates after each run.
• Complete basic preventive maintenance as directed.
• Keep the press area clean, safe, and well organized.
