Job summary

Evapco is seeking a shop associate to perform basic sheet metal operations, including cutting, breaking, and sorting parts. You will join a team focused on quality, safety, scrap reduction, and process improvements, supporting 5-S standards and productivity goals.

Responsibilities include reading production orders, using tape measures, and collaborating with maintenance and production teams. A valid driver’s license and willingness to learn are required for this role.

Qualifications

• Experience with sheet metal operations and measuring tools.
• Able to read production orders and understand shop drawings.
• Basic math skills including fractions and whole numbers.
• Read and interpret tape measures within 1/32” precision.

Responsibilities

• Operate basic sheet metal machines: cutting, breaking, sorting parts.
• Participate in team problem solving for quality, safety, scrap reduction, and process improvements.
• Meet or exceed safety, quality, 5-S, and productivity targets.
• Attend management-directed training courses.
• May perform other duties as assigned.

• Basic Sheet Metal machine operations; cutting, breaking, and sorting of parts
• Participate in team and shop business problem solving activities that include quality, safety, scrap reduction, and process improvements
• Meet or exceed annual safety, quality, 5-S, and productivity targets
• Attend training courses as directed by management
• May perform other duties, as assigned

• Ensures adherence to company policies and work rules, as well as insuring a safe work environment is maintained
• Maintain a cheerful and positive attitude
• Strive to continually improve quality, safety, 5-S, and productivity within your areas of responsibility
• Understanding and proper use of tape measure within 1/32”
• Must have a valid driver’s license
• Basic shop math (i.e. add/subtract/divide/multiply, whole numbers and fractions)
• Must be able to read Production Orders & understand shop drawings
• Familiar with common hand and power tools

Physical Requirements:

• Manufacturing and outdoor environments
• Continuous standing, sitting, squatting, bending, pulling, and lifting throughout the workday
• Lifting of 50 lbs or more with assistance; two-person lift or mechanical
• Wear PPE when required
• 12-hour shifts, paid lunch, Friday-Sunday
• Work 34.5 hours and paid for 40

Pay Range:$54,188.16 - $77,750.40 per year
