Job summary

Evapco in the United States is seeking a Sheet Metal Operator to assist in fabricating metal parts and develop proficiency to operate a Laser while upholding safety, quality, and efficiency.

The role involves training new staff, directing a Laser helper, and completing production/quality documentation. You will perform quality checks against prints and use tape measures, protractors, and thickness gauges to ensure compliance.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• Basic shop math (add/subtract/divide/multiply; whole numbers and fractions).
• Read a tape measure to within 1/16”.
• A general understanding of common hand tools is preferred.
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Minimum 1-year Evapco Sheet Metal experience required.
• Able to read and understand all engineering prints related to the process.
• Able to troubleshoot and solve problems related to the process.

Basic Purpose of the Position:

To assist in the fabrication of sheet metal parts. To develop skill set required to operate a Laser keeping Safety, Quality, and Efficiency in mind.

• Maintain a safe and clean work area.
• Able to conduct hands on training for new employees
• Able to give direction/direct Laser helper.

  • Engineering Prints
  • Tape Measurer
  • Protractor
  • Thickness Gauge Wheel
• Maintain acceptable production rates within the skill level, by meeting or exceeding efficiency goals.
• Lean and 5s Implemented in your areas.
• Must be a self-starter that can work without supervision.

• Able to be recertified as needed
• Mentor lessor experienced operators – leading by example

Knowledge, Skills, & Experience:

Work Environment & Physical Requirements:

• Manufacturing environment
• Continuous standing, squatting, bending, pulling, and lifting throughout the workday
• Lift/Carry up to 50 lbs.
• Wear PPE when required – Manufacturing Areas
• Climb and work from ladders.
• Shift work, days or evenings, Monday through Friday and some Saturday’s.
• Willingness to work any shift including weekends for training purposes and or production requirements.

Pay Range:

$46,750.08 - $58,556.16 per year
