Job summary

Jobot is seeking a Sheet Metal Estimator to join our West Coast HVAC duct fabrication group. In this in‑house role, you’ll takeoffs for ductwork, quantify materials and labor, and help prepare bids with senior estimators.

You’ll learn shop‑floor dynamics, production hours, and logistics as you grow from Estimator I to Senior Estimator, with mentoring and hands‑on training. Competitive pay and full benefits accompany the opportunity.

Qualifications

• 0–2 years in construction or related field (internships, shop/field time, design/drafting, or estimating count)
• Beginner proficiency with Bluebeam and Excel
• Exposure to any sheet‑metal estimating tool is a plus
• Curiosity and clear communication to ask why

Responsibilities

• Own the fundamentals of takeoff on ductwork and accessories: read plans/specs, quantify materials & labor, and build estimate worksheets.
• Contribute to live bids with senior estimator review; assist in preparing scopes, alternates, and inclusions/exclusions.
• Partner with fabrication, PM, and field to validate production hours and logistics for accurate estimates.
• Use modern tools (Bluebeam + Excel; exposure to estimating platforms) and learn on the job.

Sheet Metal Estimator - West Coast leading Subcontractor- HVAC/Ductwork

Salary: $20 - $25 per hour

What you’ll do

• Own the fundamentals of takeoff on ductwork and accessories: read plans/specs, quantify materials & labor, and build clean estimate worksheets.
• Contribute to live bids with senior estimator review; assist in preparing scopes, alternates, and inclusions/exclusions.
• Partner with fabrication, PM, and field to validate production hours and logistics so estimates reflect how work really gets built.
• Use modern tools (Bluebeam + Excel; exposure to leading sheet‑metal estimating platforms — we’ll train.
