Our client, a mission-driven global organization, is seeking a part‑time SharePoint Content & Knowledge Management Specialist to support a growing team and internal knowledge management initiative. The organization offers a collaborative environment and works across multiple teams and locations.
Salary/Hourly Rate:
$30/hr - $35/hr
Position Overview:
The SharePoint Content & Knowledge Management Specialist will support an internal knowledge management and intranet initiative, with a primary focus on organizing, maintaining, and migrating content within SharePoint Online. This person will work closely with internal stakeholders and project resources to improve how information is organized, maintained, and accessed across the organization.
This is a part-time contract opportunity working approximately 2 days per week, with potential to extend or convert to a full-time position.
Responsibilities of the SharePoint Content & Knowledge Management Specialist:
- Organize and maintain content within SharePoint Online.
- Support content mapping and migration from existing platforms into SharePoint.
- Apply taxonomy, metadata, tagging, and content categories.
- Review documents and ensure the most current versions are maintained.
- Determine which content should be migrated, archived, updated, or retained.
- Organize content across SharePoint sites and internal pages.
- Review and refresh SOPs, policies, how-to guides, and other internal documentation.
- Track content owners and document review schedules.
- Support internal communications and change management efforts.
- Assist with staff feedback, focus groups, and usability testing.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external project resources.
- Provide project coordination and administrative support as needed.
Required Experience/Skills for the SharePoint Content & Knowledge Management Specialist:
- 3 - 5 years of Knowledge Management, Internal Communications, or related experience.
- Strong hands‑on SharePoint Online experience.
- Strong Microsoft 365 experience.
- Experience organizing and managing internal content and documentation.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational and project coordination skills.
- Self‑starter who can work independently with minimal direction.
- Detail‑oriented and comfortable collaborating across departments and levels.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without current or future sponsorship.
- Must be local to the New York City area; relocation assistance is not available.
Preferred Experience/Skills for the SharePoint Content & Knowledge Management Specialist:
- Experience with content migrations into SharePoint.
- Experience with taxonomy, metadata, tagging, and content governance.
- Experience supporting intranet or internal knowledge management initiatives.
- Experience with internal communications or change management.
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree is preferred or equivalent relevant professional experience.
