Job summary

Hill Havurah is seeking a reliable Events & Facilities Custodian to help ensure the synagogue is welcoming, organized, and ready for services, programs, and community events.

The role involves setting up and breaking down spaces, arranging tables and chairs, handling food and refreshments, and returning items to storage after each event. You will work mainly Friday evenings and Saturday mornings, with additional holiday shifts as needed.

Qualifications

• Reliable and punctual; able to lift and arrange event supplies.
• Comfortable working evenings and weekend mornings.
• Able to follow established checklists and procedures.
• Clear communication with synagogue staff and community.

Responsibilities

• Set up and break down spaces for Friday and Saturday services.
• Arrange tables, chairs, food, beverages according to plans.
• Keep spaces clean, welcoming, and organized before participants arrive.
• Monitor spaces during events and address needs as they arise.
• Return furniture and supplies to designated locations after events.
• Follow setup and breakdown checklists and report issues.
• Provide setup/breakdown support for Jewish holiday events.
• Maintain simple systems for event supplies and setup materials.
