Job summary

Oura in San Francisco is seeking a Hardware Signal Quality Test Engineer to help establish validation for Oura Ring sensors. You will contribute to validation projects, execute hands-on testing, analyze sensor data with Python, and collaborate with hardware, firmware, and product quality teams to drive reliable sensor performance.

This hybrid role is based in San Francisco and may require travel to suppliers or Finland.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Biomedical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
• 3+ years hands-on sensor testing and hardware validation experience.
• Python for data analysis, test tooling, or automation.
• Familiarity with analog/digital signal analysis and processing.
• Knowledge of electronics, sensors or embedded systems.
• Willingness to travel to Oura sites and contract manufacturing facilities.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to sensor validation cycles for next-gen hardware products, executing test activities and evaluating signal quality.
• Contribute to test planning and adapt methods to evaluate physical and physiological signals.
• Analyze sensor data using Python, identify patterns, and extract actionable insights.
• Conduct hands-on lab testing and support field testing; assist root-cause investigations.
• Deliver data-driven reports to stakeholders and support hardware, firmware, and product quality decisions.
• Improve test capabilities, documentation, automation, and repeatable sensor validation practices.
