Oura is hiring a Hardware Signal Quality Test Engineer for its San Francisco team. This hybrid role centers on establishing and growing local validation for Oura Ring sensors, conducting hands-on testing, analyzing data, and communicating actionable results to cross‑functional groups.

The candidate will contribute to sensor validation, plan tests, and use Python for data analysis. Travel to Oura sites and contract manufacturers may be required as part of the role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 3+ years hands-on sensor testing, hardware validation, or related engineering work.
• Proficiency in Python for data analysis, test tooling, or automation.
• Familiarity with signal analysis and processing concepts.
• Understanding of electronics, sensors, or embedded systems.
• Innovative mindset with interest in latest sensor technologies.
• Strong collaboration and clear stakeholder communication.
• Willingness to travel to Oura sites and contract manufacturing facilities.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to sensor validation cycles for next‑generation hardware products; execute test activities and evaluate signal quality across sensor domains.
• Assist in test planning; adapt methods and tools to evaluate physical and physiological signals.
• Analyze sensor data using Python; identify patterns and extract actionable insights.
• Perform hands‑on testing in lab and field environments; support root‑cause investigations.
• Deliver clear, data‑driven reports to cross‑functional stakeholders for hardware, algorithms, firmware, and product quality decisions.
• Help improve test capabilities, documentation, automation, and repeatable validation practices at the San Francisco site.
