Job summary

ŌURA is seeking a Senior Algorithm Scientist in San Francisco to develop and validate health-sensing algorithms for our Ring and app. You will advance signal processing, machine learning, and biomarker development across sensing modalities, partnering with cross-functional teams to translate research into a commercial product.

The role emphasizes fast delivery, strong programming in Python, and collaboration with our Finnish teams, with three in-office days in SF and regional flexibility.

Qualifications

• PhD with 3+ years in biomedical/EE/neural engineering
• MSc with 5+ years in biomedical/EE/neural engineering
• 3+ years of Python programming experience
• Experience with signal processing and time-series analysis
• Experience with biosignal sensing or wearables is a plus
• Strong communication and collaboration across teams
• Willingness to work with teams in different time zones

Responsibilities

• Develop and deploy signal processing and ML algorithms for Oura features
• Explore new sensing features and take them from concept to product
• Design studies to evaluate biomarkers and hardware prototypes
• Maintain internal signal evaluation tools for hardware/firmware teams
• Summarize analyses and present results to a broad audience
• Support integration of new sensing modalities into hardware
• Coordinate with cross-functional and overseas teams
