Job summary

Oura in San Francisco, CA seeks a Hardware Reliability Engineer to lead reliability testing for wearable products, working with design, QA, and manufacturing to ensure durability and field performance.

You will develop test methods, analyze results, and drive corrective actions with cross-functional teams. Experience with DFMEA or PFMEA, contract manufacturers, and data-driven decision-making is essential. This role involves up to 15% travel and a strong focus on quality.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in hardware reliability, validation, or test engineering for consumer electronics/wearables.
• Hands-on reliability programs for mechanical, environmental, and electrical domains.
• Ability to interpret test data and communicate results to stakeholders clearly.
• Familiarity with reliability standards and methodologies.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication.

Responsibilities

• Plan, document, and execute reliability testing for wearable hardware.
• Coordinate reliability testing with contract manufacturers and external labs.
• Develop and improve reliability test methods for evolving wearable tech.
• Support failure analysis and root-cause investigations with design and manufacturing teams.
• Create test-to-field correlation and refine plans based on field learnings.
• Perform DFMEA early in design to identify risks and drive mitigations.
• Produce test plans, reports, and documentation for traceability.
• Collaborate across hardware, firmware, QA, and manufacturing teams.
