Sewing Machine Operator (Finance)

Position Summary:

The Sewing Machine Operators will assemble uniform apparel by operating high-speed industrial sewing machines or performing manual finishing tasks on garments.

Responsibilities:

• Operate industrial sewing machines with various fabrics such as cotton, rayon, polyester, and wool.
• Measure, cut, pin, and sew fabric pieces.
• Fit, alter, and create made-to-measure garments per customer specifications.
• Press garments using hand irons or pressing machines.
• Follow verbal and written instructions.
• Maintain sewing equipment.
• Keep the work area clean and organized.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the manager.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Sewing and hemming experience preferred.
• Willingness to learn and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and establish good relations with others.
• Capable of multitasking with quality and productivity in mind.
• Ability to read instructions and perform basic math.
• Strong hand-eye coordination and attention to detail.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to sit or stand for long periods, manipulate small items, and lift 5-10 pounds.
• Occasional climbing, crawling, balancing, stooping, kneeling, or crouching.
• Visual and sensory capabilities including color vision, near and midrange visual acuity, and frequent talking.
