Job description

Position Details

Job Purpose: Inspect finished sewing projects to ensure a quality product was produced.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform visual inspection of finished product to ensure:
• ½ “ seams
• Stitches are straight
• No skipped stitches
• Piece is sewn to specifications
• No holes or flaws in fabric/ leather
• Measure welt for correct length using a ruler
• Other duties as assigned by Manager

Working Conditions

Heated and cooled furniture manufacturing plant with concrete floors.

Supervision

• Reports to: Sewing Supervisor
• Supervision received: Minimum
• Supervision exercised: None
• Direct reports: None

Qualifications

• Minimum Experience: Manufacturing experience
• Preferred Experience: Furniture manufacturing experience
• Minimum Education: Less than high school
• Preferred Education: High school diploma or equivalent

• Strong communication skills and ability to describe nonconformance issues
