Job summary

City of Claremore is seeking a Sewer Maintenance Technician I or II to perform a range of maintenance tasks on sewer systems and related infrastructure. The role requires operating heavy equipment, adhering to safety policies, and supporting after-hours emergencies.

Typical duties include inspecting lines, repairing mains, and assisting with snow removal and storm response as needed. A CDL-B and DEQ-related qualifications are required within specified timelines.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1–2 years sewer system experience preferred.
• CDL Class B with air brake endorsement or ability to obtain one.
• Must be insurable by City’s insurance carrier.
• Certificate of Competency (D level or higher) within one year of appointment.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, maintain, clean, and repair sanitary sewer lines, manholes, lift stations, and related infrastructure.
• Operate and maintain vacuum/jetter trucks and associated equipment.
• Perform preventative maintenance and routine inspections of sewer components.
• Respond to sewer backups, emergencies, and customer requests.
• Assist with locating underground utilities and sewer lines.
• Install, repair, and maintain sewers and manholes.
• Participate in on-call rotation and after-hours emergencies.
