Job summary

The City of Claremore is seeking a Heavy Construction Technician I or II to perform a variety of civil construction projects including streets, storm water facilities, and water/sewer work. This safety-sensitive role requires operating city equipment and following strict safety protocols under supervision.

Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or GED and a valid Oklahoma driver's license; ability to obtain a Class A CDL within 6 months.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to operate a variety of city construction equipment.
• Must be dependable, safety-conscious and able to follow directions.

Responsibilities

• Operate gasoline-powered hand tools and various hand tools.
• Assist in layout and construction of concrete forms, piping systems and grading.
• Maintain equipment and complete inspections and records.
• Perform labor for new construction and maintenance projects as part of a crew.
• Coordinate traffic control at work sites.
