Job summary

Northeast Ohio Regional Sewer District is seeking a seasoned leader to plan, organize, and manage the Sewer System Maintenance & Operation Department. The role focuses on maintaining wastewater collection and storage, implementing best practices, and directing predictive, preventive, and corrective maintenance programs to ensure safe, compliant operation across pump stations and related facilities.

Qualifications

• Five (5) years of experience in operating, maintaining, designing, or constructing wastewater collection systems or wastewater treatment facilities.
• Three (3) years of supervising, managing and/or leading people, projects, or processes.
• Experience working with Collective Bargaining Union workforce and contractors preferred.
• Valid driver’s license with driving record in accordance with District guidelines.
• Valid Ohio EPA Class II Wastewater Collection System Operator Certificate or Class II Wastewater Treatment Operator Certificate within 36 months.

Responsibilities

• Develops and implements departmental goals and monitors alignment with Maintenance Services and district goals.
• Guides short- and long-term planning, creates schedules, and allocates staff; manages budgets.
• Develops and implements process improvement projects to reduce cost and improve safety.
• Reviews and analyzes trends to make decisions following guidelines.
• Oversees maintenance and repair of the entire collection system infrastructure and emergency responses.
