Job summary

The City of Reno is seeking a Maintenance Worker III in the Sewers Division for an internal promotional opportunity. The role oversees and participates in maintenance and repair of sewer and storm drain infrastructure, trains staff, and operates heavy trucks and equipment.

A valid CDL with endorsements and a flagger certification are required; bilingual candidates are encouraged. Applicants must be current City employees and pass the recruitment process.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Five years of increasingly responsible public works maintenance experience.
• Experience leading or training staff in maintenance operations.

Responsibilities

• Lead and review maintenance work for streets, sewers, and facilities.
• Train assigned staff in maintenance methods and safety procedures.
• Supervise use of tools and operation of heavy equipment and vehicles.
• Ensure work meets quality, safety, and regulatory standards.
• Repair and maintain sewer and storm drain infrastructure and related public works facilities.
