Job summary

The City of Eugene is seeking a Maintenance Worker 1 with entry level to assist in maintaining city streets, sewers, and drainage systems. Work includes operating light to some heavy equipment, basic construction tasks, and assisting with sewer pipe installation and TV inspections.

Must have a valid Oregon driver’s license, be able to obtain a Class A CDL within a year, and pass a background check. The role is located at 1820 Roosevelt Blvd, Eugene with an 7:00–3:30 schedule and AFSCME

Qualifications

• One year of experience in public works maintenance, construction or repair.
• Ability to obtain an Oregon State Class A Commercial Driver's License within one year of hire date.
• Flagger certification, or ability to obtain within six months of hire date.

Responsibilities

• Performs entry level and some heavy manual maintenance tasks in assigned areas.
• Operates light to heavy equipment as required.
• Assists with sewer pipe installation/repair and TV inspections of lines.
• Maintains daily work records and adheres to safety protocols.
