City of Alexandria, Virginia is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator to maintain sanitary and storm sewer infrastructure. The role involves operating vacuum and sewer jetter trucks, performing maintenance, and adhering to safety standards.

You will work in a team, respond to emergencies, participate in snow and ice control, and document inspections and repairs in Cityworks. CDL with endorsements is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum: High School Diploma or GED; three years experience operating heavy equipment; one year supervisory experience.
• Possession of a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with proper endorsements in the state of residency.
• Experience operating heavy multipurpose motor equipment in all weather and performing basic maintenance.
• Knowledge of safety rules, load limits, and accident prevention practices.

Responsabilités

• Operate Vacuum Truck and Sewer Jetter Truck as primary functions.
• Construct, repair, and replace sewer lines, manholes, catch basins, and other sewer infrastructure.
• Perform inspections of pipes, manholes, catch basins, culverts, and other sewer infrastructure.
• Respond to backups and flooding; investigate causes, clear blockages, and document records.
• Assist with manual labor such as raking, shoveling asphalt, pouring concrete.
• Perform CCTV inspection data collection and maintain Cityworks records.
