Job summary

The City of Sidney is seeking a Sewer Collection Equipment Operator to join the public works team. The role performs maintenance, cleaning, repairs, utility locating, equipment operation, inspections, and related documentation for the sanitary sewer collection system.

Employees may be assigned routine crew work or more complex tasks based on department needs, training, and certification. Availability for emergency responses outside normal hours is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• CDL Class B with tanker endorsement or ability to obtain within 12 months of hire.
• Ohio EPA Class I Wastewater Collection license within 18 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Operate sewer collection equipment and perform system maintenance, cleaning, and repairs.
• Document work activities and inspections.
• Respond to emergency repairs outside normal working hours as needed.

Skills

CDL Class B with tanker endorsement

Public utility experience

Education
