Job summary

Marek Group in Wisconsin is seeking a Mailing Setup Operator to support the Bindery department. You will perform mailing preparation, insert items, operate inkjet and inserters, clear jams, and prepare sacks or bins for delivery.

The role requires a high school diploma and 1–3 years related experience, mechanical aptitude, energy, accountability, and adaptability. Availability for 2nd or 3rd shift is preferred; benefits include holidays, insurance, and employee assistance.

• Mechanical aptitude with the ability to operate and troubleshoot equipment.
• Ability to work on second or third shift and maintain accuracy.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOINGWhile working under the direction of the Bindery Manager, Mailing Setup Operator has overall responsibility for performing all tasks and elements of work in the operation functions of the Bindery Department.RESPONSIBILITIES:This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities, as management may deem necessary.Insert material for printing or addressing ex. Inkjet and inserters.Accept and check containers of mail or parcels prior to distributions mailers, couriers, and contractors, and USPS.Adjust guides, rollers, loose card inserters, and weighing machines.Inspect mail machine output for defects; determine how to eliminate causes of any defects.Lift and unload containers of mail or parcels onto equipment for transportation to sortation stations.Place incoming or outgoing letters or packages into sacks or bins based on destination or type, and place identifying tags on sacks or bins.Read production orders to determine types and sizes of items scheduled for mailing.Remove containers of sorted mail/parcels and transfer them to designated areas according to established procedures.Verify that items are addressed correctly, marked with the proper postage, and in suitable condition for processing.Clear jams in sortation equipment.Seal or open envelopes, by hand or by using machines.Wrap packages or bundles by hand.Review job jackets to determine components, settings, and adjustments for equipment.Remove defective or substandard materials from machines and readjust machine components so that product meets standards.Adjust machine controls to alter position, alignment, speed, or pressure.OUR TOTAL REWARDS:The Marek Group offers a competitive total compensation package and a collaborative culture to help you succeed in your career.
