Job summary

American Express is seeking a ServiceNow IRM Engineer in Phoenix to design scalable solutions across Compliance & Risk. The role combines hands-on ServiceNow configuration with cutting-edge technology to support business needs.

As part of the GRCT team, you will work with engineers, Product Owners, staff architects and engineers to deliver projects on time and within budget, participate in architecture discussions, and provide design guidance through the full development lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Experience designing scalable ServiceNow solutions in risk/compliance domains.
• Hands-on configuration and implementation across the ServiceNow platform.
• Ability to estimate design, build, test and deployment activities.
• Strong collaboration with engineers, product owners, and architects.

Responsibilities

• Ensure timely delivery of development projects through all SDLC phases.
• Create and maintain design and implementation documentation.
• Provide estimates for design, build, test, and deployment.
• Review code and designs, coaching team members on best practices.
• Contribute to the technical roadmap and architectural direction.
• Work within a Scrum team using agile principles and Rally tools.

Job description

The position of ServiceNow IRM Engineer will be a partof a dynamic and growingteam within the GRCT organization at American Express. The successful candidate will beresponsible for designing scalable and optimal solutions across the Compliance & Riskdomains with hands on configuring in the Service Now platform as well as cuttingedge technology to offer the best solution to support the business needs. They will provideService Now experience, leveraging Business and Technical knowledge to helpdevelop and implement business partner strategies on time and within budget. TheCandidate will participate in a wide range of activities across the portfolio,supporting functionalcapabilities and working primarily with other Engineers, ProductOwners, Staff Architects and Staff Engineers:

• Responsible for the timely delivery of development projects and may be involved in all aspects of thedevelopment life cycle, from requirements analysis and design through development,testing, implementation, and documentation.
• Completes technical/implementation design documentation.
• Provides estimates fordesign, build, test, and implementation phases.
• Undertakes regular implementation and code reviews to ensure alignment withdevelopment, implementation,and performance standards, providing coaching and mentoring on design and coding technicsto engineers in scrum team.

Requirements

• Assists with updates to programspecification/implementation documentation.
• Works with scrum team to prepare configurations for production.
• Involved in unit, integration, and user acceptance testing - reviews testscripts; alignswith wider testing strategy.
• Escalates, provides feedback, and proposes changes to implementation specifications.
• Provides consultation to product owners with recommendations to drive their requirements to success.
• Provides input into technical roadmap and architectural direction based onproduct roadmaps.This can include supporting product evaluations through tooling recommendationsbased on gaps/needs, as well as helping to identify 3rd party technical andsecurity strengths/gaps as period assessments of tooling as business/climateneeds evolve and products offered change
• Participate as part of a scrum team utilizing agile principles and toolsincluding Rally.
