Position Summary
The ServiceNow System Administrator will be responsible for the day‑to‑day administration, configuration, and ongoing maintenance of the ServiceNow platform within the organization. This role ensures the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of the platform, supporting business processes and technology solutions that enable seamless IT and business services.
Responsibilities
- As the ServiceNow platform owner, stay up to date on technological enhancements, and collaborate with leadership to develop strategy and budgeting to support business operations.
- Ensure the platform runs smoothly by applying updates, patches, and performing regular maintenance tasks.
- Maintain data integrity, manage data import and export processes, and create reports and dashboards to analyze platform usage and performance.
- Address and resolve technical issues and provide support to users encountering platform problems.
- Manage users/groups following the principle of least privilege, implement security measures, and ensure compliance with relevant security policies and requirements.
- Design and build ServiceNow applications and integrate them with other applications and platforms, following architecture standards, best practices, and Agile Scrum methodologies.
- Follow, maintain, and apply documentation best practice policies, procedures, and processes throughout ServiceNow development.
- Utilize programming methodologies and languages, adhere to coding standards, and contribute to technical code documentation.
- Design and implement solutions in accordance with established Configuration Management policies and standards.
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of ServiceNow modules, workflows, and data model.
- Knowledge of ITIL frameworks and ServiceNow’s ITSM applications (Incident, Problem, Change).
- Understanding of user and role management, list and form configuration, and data import.
- Ability to build and manage workflows to automate tasks and processes within ServiceNow.
- Effective communication of technical information to non‑technical personnel.
- Understanding of computer and/or network security systems, applications, procedures, and techniques.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent customer service standards and behaviors, with the ability to coach and monitor staff.
- Teamwork, direct communication, and the ability to function independently or as part of a team.
Minimum Requirements
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent certification.
- High school diploma and Bachelor’s degree in a technology‑related curriculum, or equivalent work experience.
- 2+ years of experience in ServiceNow workflow development.
- Experience with ServiceNow Discovery, CMDB, or Asset Management.
- Hands‑on implementation and support experience with ServiceNow features/functions including CMDB, Asset, Service Catalog, Workflows, Knowledge, Incident, Problem, and Change.
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and decision‑making capabilities.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds when necessary.
Preferred Requirements
- ServiceNow Partner accreditations and/or micro‑certifications.
- ITIL v4 Foundations Certification.
- Certified ServiceNow Developer.
