NJ Transit is seeking a highly experienced Senior ServiceNow Leader to provide hands-on technical leadership for the ServiceNow platform. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in ServiceNow development, administration, architecture, integrations, ITSM processes, and platform governance.
This is a hands-on technical leadership role, not a pure ServiceNow administration position. The candidate should be comfortable making platform-level technical decisions, leading complex ServiceNow initiatives, developing solutions, managing integrations, and mentoring other ServiceNow professionals.
7+ years of hands-on experience with ServiceNow development and administration
7+ years of experience working with ITIL-based IT Service Management (ITSM)
Strong experience with JavaScript, Glide API, Flow Designer, Integration Hub, and ServiceNow Studio
Extensive experience developing and managing REST/SOAP enterprise integrations
Experience with ServiceNow core modules including:
Incident
Problem
Change
Request / Service Catalog
Knowledge Management
CMDB
Discovery
Asset Management
Strong understanding of ServiceNow platform architecture, governance, upgrades, releases, and environment strategies
Experience with ServiceNow workflows, scripting, automation, and complex configurations
Experience with CMDB data modeling, reconciliation, normalization, and CI lifecycle management
Experience with Discovery schedules, probes/patterns, classification, and Service Mapping
Strong understanding of ServiceNow security, RBAC, access controls, and audit requirements
Experience with ServiceNow upgrades, patches, hotfixes, and platform maintenance
Strong technical documentation and mentoring skills

Lead ServiceNow architecture, design, development, administration, and implementation activities
Design and develop advanced workflows, business rules, scripts, and Flow Designer solutions
Develop and maintain enterprise integrations using REST, SOAP, Integration Hub, OAuth, and MID Server
Establish platform governance, technical standards, roadmap, and release strategies
Manage update sets, source control, development environments, testing, and production releases
Support CMDB architecture, data quality, reconciliation, normalization, and CI lifecycle processes
Configure and maintain Discovery, Service Mapping, SAM/HAM, and other ServiceNow capabilities
Implement appropriate RBAC, security, access, and audit controls
Support ServiceNow upgrades, patches, hotfixes, and platform enhancements
Develop technical documentation, runbooks, administration guides, and support procedures
Troubleshoot complex ServiceNow platform and integration issues
Mentor and provide technical guidance to ServiceNow developers and administrators
Collaborate with business stakeholders, project teams, vendors, and IT leadership
Must be local to the Newark, NJ area
Must be available to work 3 days onsite / 2 days remote
