Job summary

Brooksource is seeking an experienced ServiceNow CMDB Subject Matter Expert to lead a high-visibility engagement with a public-sector client in the Boston area. You will be embedded with the Enterprise Platforms team to design governance, validate discovery across Armis and AWS, and operationalize a scalable CMDB model for ongoing IT use.

Qualifications

• 5+ years delivering senior-level ServiceNow CMDB advisory or implementation services in complex enterprise environments.

• Demonstrated experience with discovery tooling including Armis — able to optimize existing integrations and identify gaps.
• Proven ability to facilitate stakeholder workshops, produce governance documentation, and drive organizational rollout and adoption.
• Strong written, verbal, and facilitation skills — translating complex CMDB concepts into clear guidance for technical and non-technical audiences.

Job description

Brooksource is seeking an experienced ServiceNow CMDB Subject Matter Expert to serve as the named lead advisor on a high-visibility engagement with a public-sector client. This is a hands-on, execution-oriented role — not purely advisory. The consultant will be embedded with the client's Enterprise Platforms team to lead CMDB governance design, validate and remediate discovery across Armis, AWS, and internal environments, produce client-specific operational documentation, and build a sustainable, operationalized CMDB model that can be rolled out across the broader client IT organization.

The client has been maturing its ServiceNow CMDB since 2017 and has reduced its Configuration Item inventory from roughly 10 million to 2 million CIs. The organization now needs a senior expert to move it from foundational to operational — establishing the governance, role clarity, documentation, and discovery discipline required for long-term success across the organization. Because this is a true advisory/professional-services engagement, the consultant is expected to shape and propose the best path for the client, not simply execute a fixed task list.

Required Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience with discovery tooling including Armis — able to optimize existing integrations and identify gaps.
• Proven ability to facilitate stakeholder workshops, produce governance documentation, and drive organizational rollout and adoption.
• Strong written, verbal, and facilitation skills — translating complex CMDB concepts into clear guidance for technical and non-technical audiences.
• Ability to work alongside an existing implementation or support partner without duplicating operational responsibilities.
• At least two recent client references for comparable CMDB advisory or implementation work — public sector, regulated, or similarly complex environments preferred.
• Locally based / able to work hybrid on-site in the Boston, MA area.

Preferred Qualifications

• ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist (CIS) or comparable advanced ServiceNow credential relevant to CMDB and Discovery.
• Experience with AWS discovery environments and cloud infrastructure CI management.
• Prior public sector or state government engagement experience.
• Familiarity with the ITIL framework and IT service management best practices.
