Job summary

Areti Group is actively seeking a Senior ServiceNow CMDB Engineer/Architect to design and implement scalable CMDB solutions in a large enterprise. You will lead governance, data quality and automation while remaining hands-on with the ServiceNow platform.

The role focuses on ingestion, reconciliation, ownership and relationships across complex data sources, with emphasis on CI lifecycle governance and analytics. Strong SQL, Python and BI skills are required.

Qualifications

• 3+ years' experience within ServiceNow, CMDB, ITSM or enterprise platform engineering.
• Strong hands-on expertise with ServiceNow CMDB.
• Deep understanding of IRE (Identification and Reconciliation Engine).
• Experience with ServiceNow Discovery and Service Mapping.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable ServiceNow CMDB solutions covering data quality, governance, certification, attestation and exception management.
• Improve CMDB maturity across multiple enterprise data sources and integration points.
• Establish and enforce standards around CI identification, reconciliation, ownership, relationships and data quality.
• Partner with Discovery, integration and data teams to improve how information is brought into the CMDB.
• Configure and optimize IRE, identification rules, reconciliation rules, CI classes, relationships and data mappings.
• Develop ServiceNow components including Business Rules, Script Includes, ACLs, Transform Maps and scoped application functionality.
• Build automated processes for stale CIs, duplicate records, missing ownership and other CMDB health issues.
• Develop dashboards and KPI frameworks measuring CMDB health, completeness, accuracy and coverage.
• Use SQL and data analytics to investigate CI populations, identify data quality issues and support governance decisions.
• Support and optimize ServiceNow Discovery and Service Mapping capabilities.
• Introduce greater automation into CMDB governance and remediation processes.
• Explore practical applications of Generative AI and agentic workflows for data validation, remediation and intelligent reporting.
• Work with engineering and platform teams through Agile delivery cycles to pilot and scale new CMDB capabilities.
• Troubleshoot platform and data issues and help improve overall performance and reliability.
• Create technical documentation, governance playbooks and reusable CMDB standards.
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to teams working across the ServiceNow platform.

We are supporting a large enterprise organization that is investing heavily in the maturity, governance and automation of its ServiceNow CMDB environment.

We are looking for an experienced ServiceNow CMDB specialist who can combine hands-on platform development with CMDB governance, data quality and technical leadership.

This is not purely a governance position. You will work directly within ServiceNow, helping improve how configuration data is ingested, reconciled, governed and measured across a complex enterprise environment.

What we’re looking for

• Understanding of how AI/GenAI can be applied to automation, data quality or enterprise workflows.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work across technical, governance and business teams.

Nice to have

• ServiceNow CIS – Discovery or other relevant ServiceNow certifications.
• Experience with ServiceNow CMDB-related certification or advanced platform training.
• Exposure to AI/ML, Generative AI or agentic automation.
• Experience with Agile or DevOps delivery environments.
• Experience with tools such as Jira, Jira Service Management, Jira Align or Git.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related discipline.
