Job summary

Taylor Automotive is a small, busy independent repair shop in Hood River, Oregon, seeking a Service Writer / Manager / Customer Service Representative to help lead the customer experience, support technicians, and keep the shop organized and professional. Automotive knowledge is helpful, but character matters as much as experience.

The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, calm under pressure, honest, respectful, and eager to learn.

Qualifications

• Experience in automotive service writing, customer service, office management, parts, estimating, repair shop workflow, or related fields.
• Strong communication, honesty, and customer empathy.

Responsibilities

• Greeting customers and building strong relationships.
• Answering phones and responding to customer questions.
• Scheduling appointments and gathering accurate vehicle information.
• Writing repair orders clearly and communicating with technicians about inspections, diagnostics, and repair status.
• Building estimates based on technician findings and prioritizing recommendations.
• Ordering and coordinating parts and managing daily workflow.
• Maintaining a clean, organized front office and protecting customer trust through clear communication.
