Job summary

United Ag & Turf NE is seeking a Service Writer to assist the Service Department with customer service needs, open and close work orders, and support daily shop operations for new and used equipment.

Ideal candidates will have strong communication, organizational skills, and a willingness to work extended hours as needed. Experience with John Deere equipment is a plus; this is a full-time position based in New York with opportunities for growth within the dealership.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to use standard desktop applications (MS Office) and internet-based tools.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced service environment and handle customer inquiries.

Responsibilities

• Advise customers on service needs and schedule work orders.
• Assist in opening and closing work orders and tracking shop progress.
• Coordinate with service manager on required parts and labor.
• Schedule shop assignments, field service work, and vehicle deliveries.
• Process warranty claims and maintain documentation.
• Ensure timely completion of work orders to meet goals.
• Support training initiatives and develop knowledge base.
• Maintain professional relationships with customers and team members.
