Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for customers regarding service inquiries, work orders, and job status updates.
  • Accurately create, update, and manage service work orders using internal computer systems.
  • Enter service details, labor notes, parts usage, and completion updates with precision and consistency.
  • Coordinate workflow between technicians, yard staff, and management to ensure efficient job execution.
  • Communicate service timelines, delays, and completion status clearly and professionally to customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Maintain organized digital and physical records related to service jobs, invoices, and documentation.
  • Assist with scheduling service work and prioritizing jobs based on operational needs.
  • Support inventory tracking and parts coordination as it relates to service work orders.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and operational procedures.
  • Utilize computer systems, spreadsheets, and shop software to support daily operations and reporting.
  • Assist shop leadership with administrative tasks, reporting, and special projects as assigned.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of service documentation, communication processes, and operational efficiency.

Location: Bloomington Shop – Bloomington, CA

Classification: Full-Time, Non-Exempt

Schedule: Monday to Friday 7:00AM – 4:30PM

Position Summary

Ecology Auto Parts, Inc. is seeking a Service Writer to join our Bloomington shop and serve as a key operational and administrative hub between customers, technicians, and management. Requirements

Physical Demands/Environmental Factors
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, and use hands to handle, type, or operate office equipment.

  • Occasional lifting and/or moving of items up to 25 pounds.
  • Work is primarily performed in a shop and office environment with exposure to noise, dust, and industrial activity.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision and the ability to focus on computer screens for extended periods.
Compensation

The Service Writer position offers an hourly compensation range of $18.00 to $20.00 per hour, dependent upon experience and qualifications. In addition to hourly pay, Ecology Auto Parts, Inc. provides a comprehensive benefits package for eligible employees, which may include medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) plan with employer matching, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with company policy.
