Joe Johnson Equipment, operating as Kinloch Equipment & Supply, seeks an experienced Service Writer to provide essential admin support to the service department in Pasadena, Texas. You will liaise with customers, open/close work orders and prepare quotes to ensure smooth daily operations.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years in service writing or related roles, strong MS Office skills, and a proactive, customer-focused approach in a fast-paced workshop environment.

Qualifications

• 3+ years’ experience in a Service Writer or related administrative/customer service role.
• Experience preparing quotes and opening/closing work orders.
• Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Mechanic aptitude or exposure to heavy equipment is an asset.
• Ability to organize, multitask and plan work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong verbal and written communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Receive and manage customer inquiries by phone and email, providing status updates.
• Open and close work orders in line with procedures and timelines.
• Prepare quotes for service work and update all billable items.
• Maintain accurate unit history for ongoing repairs and service activity.
• Assist with shop scheduling to optimize efficiency and customer service.
• Collaborate with factory reps to minimize customer downtime.
