Job summary

Lipscomb Dealerships is seeking a Service Writer to coordinate shop scheduling, communicate with customers, and manage daily technician workflows in a professional manner.

You will handle customer calls, maintain service schedules, ensure warranty procedures are followed, and support a safe, compliant shop environment in a dealership setting.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Possess an acceptable driving record and a valid driver's license in your state of residence.

Responsibilities

• Schedule shop work as efficiently as possible in accordance with dealership policy.
• Assign work to the correct technician level
• Ensure that technicians follow warranty material disposition procedures
• Administer safety and housekeeping policies and procedures
• Review hard copies turned in by technicians to ensure that assigned work has been completed properly
• Ensure technicians complete the multi-point vehicle inspection forms
• Ensure each warranty RO has a vehicle history attached
• Complete a dispatch log daily and turn into Service Management at end of shift
• Maintain a record of carryover vehicles
• Coordinate parts requirements with the Parts Department
• Spot-check repairs to assure quality and timely completion
• Maintain proper training in the operation of service equipment (i.e. lifts and hoists)
• Understand and follow federal, state, and local regulations such as those governing the disposal of hazardous wastes, OSHA right-to-know, etc.
• Ensure that all repair orders are accounted for and closed when work is completed
• Other duties as required
