Job summary

GTG Peterbilt in Great Bend, KS seeks an experienced Service Writer to be the first point of contact for service customers. You will coordinate with the service department, manage work orders, and handle a variety of service-related tasks in a full-time role with a 8:00 AM – 5:30 PM schedule.

Responsibilities include processing work orders, tracking technician time, answering calls, scheduling, and assisting with warranty paperwork.

• Must pass pre-employment drug screen and background check.

Responsibilities

• Open and close work orders providing as much information as possible.
• Record, adjust and report mechanics time for work orders.
• Help cover phone calls for the Service Department.
• Try to resolve customer complaints.
• Schedule appointments.
• Assist with warranty repair paper flow.
• Consult with the parts department on special order parts and sublet repairs.
• Instruct the following shift’s service writer on any special instructions and appointments.
• Keep Service Manager informed of all customer complaints and technician problems.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
