Job summary

Southern Tire Mart is hiring a tire technician to mount, balance, rotate, and repair tires across passenger cars, light trucks, large trucks and industrial vehicles. You will diagnose and repair mechanical issues on semi-trucks and trailers, perform fleet inspections, respond to roadside service calls, and maintain TPMS.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screen.
• Possible overtime may be required.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record required.
• Experience with heavy-duty or commercial tires preferred (not required).
• Ability to lift/move tires weighing 30–250 lbs., with or without aids.
• Physically demanding work with repetitive motion and vibration.
• Flexible hours including evenings, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Mount, balance, rotate, and repair tires across passenger cars, light trucks, large trucks, and industrial vehicles.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical issues on semi-trucks and trailers, including brakes and drivetrains.
• Operate service truck for roadside calls and participate in fleet inspections.
• Use and maintain TPMS and perform routine maintenance.
• Assist with inventory loading, unloading and counts.
• Follow safety protocols and company policies; perform other duties as assigned.

Job description

Mount, balance, rotate, and repair tires across various vehicle types: passenger cars, light trucks, large trucks, and industrial vehicles.

Diagnose and repair mechanical issues on semi-trucks and trailers, including:

Commercial Tires

HVAC systems

Brakes

PM Inspections

Drivetrain

Electrical Systems

Conduct fleet inspections and routine maintenance.

Operate company vehicles safely and in compliance with all traffic regulations.

Respond to roadside service calls using a service truck (F-350), when needed.

Use and maintain Tire Pressure Monitoring Systems (TPMS).

Assist with inventory loading, unloading, and physical counts.

Participate in ongoing training, follow safety protocols, and uphold company policies.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills, Education & Requirements:

Must be at least 18 years of age.
