Job summary

Southern Tire Mart in Biloxi, MS seeks a tire technician to mount, balance, rotate, and repair tires across passenger cars, light trucks, heavy trucks, and semi-trailers. You will diagnose mechanical issues and perform preventive maintenance as needed to keep fleets on the road.

Applicants must have a valid driver’s license, be able to lift 30–250 lbs, and be prepared for flexible hours including overtime. On-the-job training and benefits are provided.

Qualifications

• Must be able to lift/move tires 30–250 lbs., with or without aids.
• Must pass pre-employment drug screen.
• Valid driver’s license with clean record required.
• Overtime may be required.

Responsibilities

• Mount, balance, rotate, and repair tires on passenger cars, light trucks, and heavy trucks.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical issues on semi-trucks and trailers.
• Inspect and service tires, Brakes, HVAC, and electrical systems as needed.
• Conduct fleet inspections and routine maintenance.
• Respond to roadside service calls with company service truck when needed.
• Maintain TPMS and assist with inventory loading and counts.

Job description

Mount, balance, rotate, and repair tires across various vehicle types: passenger cars, light trucks, large trucks, and industrial vehicles.

Diagnose and repair mechanical issues on semi-trucks and trailers, including:

Commercial Tires

HVAC systems

Brakes

PM Inspections

Drivetrain

Electrical Systems

Conduct fleet inspections and routine maintenance.

Operate company vehicles safely and in compliance with all traffic regulations.

Respond to roadside service calls using a service truck (F-350), when needed.

Use and maintain Tire Pressure Monitoring Systems (TPMS).

Assist with inventory loading, unloading, and physical counts.

Participate in ongoing training, follow safety protocols, and uphold company policies.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills, Education & Requirements:

Must be at least 18 years of age.

Must pass a pre-employment drug screen.

• Possible overtime may be required.

Valid driver's license with a clean driving record required.

Experience with heavy-duty or commercial tires preferred (not required).

Ability to lift/move tires weighing between 30–250 lbs., with or without mechanical aids.

Ability to perform physically demanding work involving repetitive motion, forceful exertion, and working in awkward postures or under vibration.

• Must be available to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Overtime maybe required.
