Job summary

Southern Tire Mart in Longview, TX is seeking a Tire Technician to mount, balance, rotate, and repair tires on passenger cars, light trucks, large trucks, and industrial vehicles.

You will diagnose mechanical issues, perform PM inspections, and support service operations, including responding to roadside calls with a service truck and maintaining TPMS. This role requires safety adherence and physical readiness to lift heavy tires.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screen.
• Possible overtime may be required.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record required.
• Experience with heavy-duty or commercial tires preferred (not required).
• Ability to lift/move tires weighing between 30–250 lbs., with or without mechanical aids.

Responsibilities

• Mount, balance, rotate, and repair tires across various vehicle types including passenger cars, light trucks, large trucks, and industrial vehicles.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical issues on semi-trucks and trailers.
• Respond to roadside service calls using a service truck when needed.
• Operate Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) equipment and maintain TPMS.
• Assist with inventory loading, unloading, and physical counts.
• Participate in ongoing training, follow safety protocols, and uphold company policies.

Job description

Mount, balance, rotate, and repair tires across various vehicle types: passenger cars, light trucks, large trucks, and industrial vehicles.

Diagnose and repair mechanical issues on semi-trucks and trailers, including:

Commercial Tires

HVAC systems

Brakes

PM Inspections

Drivetrain

Electrical Systems

Conduct fleet inspections and routine maintenance.

Operate company vehicles safely and in compliance with all traffic regulations.

Respond to roadside service calls using a service truck (F-350), when needed.

Use and maintain Tire Pressure Monitoring Systems (TPMS).

Assist with inventory loading, unloading, and physical counts.

Participate in ongoing training, follow safety protocols, and uphold company policies.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills, Education & Requirements:

Must be at least 18 years of age.

Must pass a pre-employment drug screen.
