Job summary

Southern Tire Mart is seeking a tire service technician to mount, balance, rotate, and repair tires for a wide range of vehicles, including semi-trucks. You will diagnose mechanical issues, perform fleet maintenance, and respond to roadside calls when needed.

The role requires physical stamina, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends. Training is provided and benefits are available.

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screen.
  • Overtime may be required.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Experience with heavy-duty or commercial tires preferred (not required).
  • Ability to lift/move tires weighing 30–250 lbs., with or without mechanical aids.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding work involving repetitive motion, forceful exertion, and working in awkward postures or under vibration.
  • Must be available to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

  • Mount, balance, rotate, and repair tires across passenger cars, light trucks, large trucks, and industrial vehicles.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical issues on semi-trucks and trailers, including brakes, HVAC, drivetrains, electrical systems, and tires.
  • Conduct fleet inspections and routine maintenance.
  • Operate company vehicles safely and in compliance with traffic regulations.
  • Respond to roadside service calls using a service truck when needed.
  • Use and maintain TPMS.
  • Assist with inventory loading, unloading, and counts.
  • Participate in ongoing training and follow safety protocols.

Job description

Mount, balance, rotate, and repair tires across various vehicle types: passenger cars, light trucks, large trucks, and industrial vehicles.

Diagnose and repair mechanical issues on semi-trucks and trailers, including:

Commercial Tires

HVAC systems

Brakes

PM Inspections

Drivetrain

Electrical Systems

Conduct fleet inspections and routine maintenance.

Operate company vehicles safely and in compliance with all traffic regulations.

Respond to roadside service calls using a service truck (F-350), when needed.

Use and maintain Tire Pressure Monitoring Systems (TPMS).

Assist with inventory loading, unloading, and physical counts.

Participate in ongoing training, follow safety protocols, and uphold company policies.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills, Education & Requirements:

Must be at least 18 years of age.

Must pass a pre-employment drug screen.

  • Possible overtime may be required.
