Job summary

Kenny Electric, a Denver, CO-based contractor, is seeking a Service Technician II to support the Service Department with electrical service needs. You will install changes, troubleshoot issues, and work to meet project timelines.

Candidates should have at least 4 years of service experience and a valid Journeyman Electrician license, plus strong communication skills. The role includes being on call, a 40-hour week with overtime, and maintaining daily logs and client relationships.

Responsibilities

• Investigate and problem solve to determine the most efficient way to install changes to existing service.

• Estimate time and materials to complete service tasks.
• Communicate with Service Manager regarding scheduling and customer needs.
• Interact with building owners/tenants to perform jobs.
• Ensure NEC standards compliance in all tasks.
• Coordinate with vendors, engineers and other contractors to meet deadlines.
• Contact customers to set appointments.
• Maintain logs and project tasking and develop client base.
• Work 40 hours per week plus overtime as required.
• Be on call 24/7 for two weeks every three months.

Purpose:

The Service Technician II assists in the development of the Service Department by meeting all customer needs relating to electrical service.

Essential Duties Include The Following

• Investigate and problem solve to determine most efficient way to install changes to existing service
• Working alone must be capable of performing electrical work
• Determine customer needs and most effective way to meet them then sell the solution
• Estimate the amount of time and material to complete service tasks
• Communicate with Service Manager frequently regarding scheduling
• Work around building owners and tenants to perform jobs
• Determine what is necessary to accomplish tasks and comply with NEC standards
• Communicate with vendors, engineers and other contractors to assure jobs are completed on schedule
• Contact customers to set appointments
• Strive at all times to meet budget
• Be on call 24 / 7 for 2 weeks every 3 months
• Properly maintain company vehicle
• Develop and retain client base
• Maintain daily logs and project tasking

• Perform additional assignments as assigned
• Work 40 hours/week plus overtime when required

Physical Requirements

• Able to work off all types of ladders, lifts and elevated platforms (electric or gas powered)
• Able to work at various heights up to 50 feet from ladders, scaffolds, aerial lifts, cat walks, or other safe work areas
• Able to work in restricted areas, manholes, utility tunnels, crawl spaces and attics
• Able to bend, stoop, squat, crawl, climb, kneel, balance, push, pull, and reach overhead
• Able to carry tools and materials up to 50 pounds from the ground to overhead
• Able to constantly move on feet, climbing ladders and working overhead
• Possess good vision (normal or corrected)
• Able to get to customer job sites

Work Environment:

Able to work in all elements, depending on job locations and time of year
