Job summary

Kenny Electric is seeking a Service Technician II to support the Denver, CO service department. You will investigate, install, and troubleshoot electrical service, meeting customer needs and scheduling with the Service Manager.

Candidates should have a Journeyman license and 4+ years in service tech roles, with strong communication and safety awareness to work across commercial, industrial environments.

Responsibilities

• Investigate and determine efficient methods to install changes to existing service.
• Perform electrical work independently when required.
• Assess customer needs and propose the best-suited solution.
• Estimate time and material for service tasks.
• Regularly communicate with the Service Manager about scheduling.
• Work around building owners and tenants to complete jobs.
• Identify requirements to complete tasks per NEC standards.
• Coordinate with vendors, engineers and contractors to stay on schedule.
• Contact customers to set appointments.
• Aim to meet budget targets consistently.
• Be on-call 24/7 for two weeks every three months.
• Maintain company vehicle properly.
• Develop and retain client base.
• Keep daily logs and project tasking up to date.
• Communicate and reinforce company goals.
• Perform additional assignments as needed.
• Work 40 hours/week plus overtime when required.

Purpose:

The Service Technician II assists in the development of the Service Department by meeting all customer needs relating to electrical service.

Essential Duties include the following:

• Investigate and problem solve to determine most efficient way to install changes to existing service


• Working alone must be capable of performing electrical work


• Determine customer needs and most effective way to meet them then sell the solution


• Estimate the amount of time and material to complete service tasks


• Communicate with Service Manager frequently regarding scheduling


• Work around building owners and tenants to perform jobs


• Determine what is necessary to accomplish tasks and comply with NEC standards


• Communicate with vendors, engineers and other contractors to assure jobs are completed on schedule


• Contact customers to set appointments


• Strive at all times to meet budget


• Be on call 24 / 7 for 2 weeks every 3 months


• Properly maintain company vehicle


• Develop and retain client base

Physical Requirements:

• Able to work off all types of ladders, lifts and elevated platforms (electric or gas powered)


• Able to work at various heights up to 50 feet from ladders, scaffolds, aerial lifts, cat walks, or other safe work areas


• Able to work in restricted areas, manholes, utility tunnels, crawl spaces and attics


• Able to bend, stoop, squat, crawl, climb, kneel, balance, push, pull, and reach overhead


• Able to carry tools and materials up to 50 pounds from the ground to overhead


• Able to constantly move on feet, climbing ladders and working overhead


• Possess good vision (normal or corrected)


• Able to get to customer job sites

Work Environment:

Able to work in all elements, depending on job locations and time of year
