Job summary

Responsibilities

  • Investigate and problem solve to determine most efficient way to install changes to existing service.
  • Work alone and perform electrical work as needed.
  • Determine customer needs and meet them, then sell the solution.
  • Estimate time and material to complete service tasks.
  • Communicate with Service Manager regarding scheduling.
  • Work around building owners and tenants to perform jobs.
  • Keep NEC standards in compliance for tasks performed.
  • Contact customers to set appointments.
  • Be on call 24/7 for 2 weeks every 3 months.
  • Maintain company vehicle and daily logs.

We are looking for driven and organized individuals who share the same pride and enthusiasm for the industry as we do.Purpose: The Service Technician II assists in the development of the Service Department by meeting all customer needs relating to electrical service.Essential Duties include the following:Investigate and problem solve to determine most efficient way to install changes to existing serviceWorking alone must be capable of performing electrical workDetermine customer needs and most effective way to meet them then sell the solutionEstimate the amount of time and material to complete service tasksCommunicate with Service Manager frequently regarding schedulingWork around building owners and tenants to perform jobsDetermine what is necessary to accomplish tasks and comply with NEC standardsCommunicate with vendors, engineers and other contractors to assure jobs are completed on scheduleContact customers to set appointmentsStrive at all times to meet budgetBe on call 24 / 7 for 2 weeks every 3 monthsProperly maintain company vehicleDevelop and retain client baseMaintain daily logs and project taskingCommunicate and reinforce and goalsPerform additional assignments as assignedWork 40 hours/week plus overtime when requiredQualifications/Requirements:Wiring systems and all phases of project installationElectrical control work and troubleshootingPurchasing of electrical material and partsExperience in commercial, industrial and manufacturing environmentsMeeting and exceeding customer expectations and needsAssertive and proactiveExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsJourneyman Electrician LicenseAt least 4 years of experience as Service TechPhysical Requirements:Able to work off all types of ladders, lifts and elevated platforms (electric or gas powered)Able to work at various heights up to 50 feet from ladders, scaffolds, aerial lifts, cat walks, or other safe work areasAble to work in restricted areas, manholes, utility tunnels, crawl spaces and atticsAble to bend, stoop, squat, crawl, climb, kneel, balance, push, pull, and reach overheadAble to carry tools and materials up to 50 pounds from the ground to overheadAble to constantly move on feet, climbing ladders and working overheadPossess good vision (normal or corrected)Able to get to customer job sitesWork Environment: Able to work in all elements, depending on job locations and time of yearThe above statements are intended to reflect the principal duties of the position and are not intended to be all inclusive.
