Job summary

Windsor Communities is seeking a Service Technician II for Windsor Kingstowne in Alexandria, VA. The role supports multifamily communities with HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and carpentry tasks, including on-call after hours and weekends. Experience in maintenance and use of property management software is preferred.

Compensation is hourly with a starting annual range based on experience. The company offers housing discounts and extensive PTO, plus tuition assistance and other benefits.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years' experience in multifamily residential, commercial or hotel maintenance.
• Familiarity with building safety systems including fire systems (sprinklers/alarms).
• Ability to use smart devices and property management software for maintaining records and work orders.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, and preventively maintain apartment homes, common areas, mechanical rooms, plumbing, electrical and appliances.
• Use hand and power tools safely to complete maintenance tasks.
• Support on-call rotations and after-hours emergency response.

Service Technician II | Windsor Kingstowne - Alexandria, VA

Windsor Kingstowne is a 556 unit garden style apartment community.

For the fifth year in a row, Windsor Communities is the recipient of the 2025 Kingsley Excellence Award achieving the top award for Overall Customer Service.

Successful Service Technicians can come from a variety of backgrounds including apartment maintenance, HVAC, general labor, construction, hotel, general building maintenance, and work order management. Must have intermediate competency with HVAC, plumbing, electrical, appliance repair, painting, and carpentry. Must be available to be part of a rotating on call schedule for after hours and weekend emergency response.

Compensation

Our company considers a range of factors including education and experience when determining base compensation.

Hourly: Starting at $23.52 - $29.40 per hour, depending on years of experience, tenure, and location.

Annual Starting Comp: $48,921 - $61,152

Your Skills

• Minimum of 2 years' experience with multifamily residential, commercial or hotel maintenance
• Familiarity with building safety systems including the fire systems (sprinklers/alarms)

• Advanced knowledge of hand tools and basic power tools

Requirements

• Site specific certifications such as:
  • EPA Type II preferred or ability to become certified within 90 days of start date
  • CPO (Certified Pool Operator) preferred or ability to become certified within 90 days of start date
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, some weekend work and ability to participate in the on-call rotations
