Job summary

Performance Health is seeking Equipment Service Technicians to join our Field Service team in Peoria, IL. The Service Technician will troubleshoot, repair, calibrate, and inspect rehabilitation medical devices and exercise equipment at customer sites, ensuring safety, reliability, and compliance with regulatory standards.

This role requires hands-on mechanical work, accurate service documentation, and timely communication with the Service Coordinator.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1-2 years as a medical equipment or fitness equipment service technician preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
  • Electrical/hydraulic and mechanical experience.
  • Willingness to travel daily within assigned territory.
  • Strong customer service skills are essential.
  • Ability to lift 50+ pounds.
  • Proven work ethic and time-management abilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Perform repairs, calibrations, and maintenance per manufacturer and regulatory guidelines.
  • Prepare equipment, tools, and materials for installations and service visits.
  • Manage exchange/return process for electrotherapy devices or accessories needing repair or replacement.
  • Verify equipment functionality and safety before service visits.
  • Communicate updates and issues to Service Coordinator/Manager.
  • Complete service documentation, manage inventory, and keep tools organized.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying issues and recommending changes.
  • Support broader Service team and cross-functional initiatives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job description

Performance Health is looking for Equipment Service Technicians to join our growing Field Service team. The Service Technician plays a critical role in supporting the reliability and safety of rehabilitation medical devices and exercise equipment used by customers. This position is responsible for troubleshooting, repair, calibration, and safety inspection of a wide range of products, ensuring optimal performance and compliance with all regulatory and manufacturer standards.As a valued technical professional, the Service Technician represents the company with a strong focus on quality, precision, and customer satisfaction. This role builds technical expertise through hands-on experience, mentorship, and manufacturer-supported training programs designed to enhance technical proficiency and professional growth within the Service function.

Applicants should have a solid understanding of mechanical systems and be proficient with tools and equipment commonly used in repair work.

Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities
  • Perform high-quality repairs, calibrations, and maintenance in accordance with specific manufacturers, Federal, State, and BRH guidelines.
  • Assess and prepare necessary equipment, tools, and materials to complete installations and service visits efficiently.
  • Manage the exchange and return process of electrotherapy devices and/or accessories requiring repair or replacement.
  • Verify equipment is fully operational and meets safety and performance standards before completing service visits.
  • Communicate effectively with the Service Coordinator and/or Service Manager to provide updates, flag issues, and ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Accurately complete service documentation, maintain inventory, and uphold vehicle and tool organization standards.
  • Actively contributes to continuous improvement by sharing insights, identifying recurring technical issues, and recommending process enhancements.
  • Support the broader Service team as needed, including cross-functional collaboration on special projects or initiatives.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications
