Job summary

Mark-Taylor in Phoenix, AZ, is hiring a Service Technician to support our growing communities. You will handle maintenance repairs, assist with make-ready units, and contribute to keeping our properties safe and welcoming for residents.

The role includes on-call rotation with an extra $3.00/hour when on-call, and additional pay for EPA/CPO/OSHA certifications. Full-time, on-site with competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• General knowledge in plumbing, electrical, pool maintenance, HVAC, carpentry, landscaping, appliances, and OSHA standards.
• Knowledge of building systems.
• Service orientation and basic computer skills.
• Experience as apartment turn/make ready/work order technician desirable.
• Basic written and spoken English.

Responsibilities

• Assist in completing make-ready units to Mark-Taylor standards.
• Troubleshoot and correct minor HVAC, electrical, plumbing, appliance, carpentry and drywall issues.
• Perform repairs and preventative maintenance on vacant units.
• Perform daily pool care and maintain proper chemical balance and safety.
• Complete minor roof repairs, re-key locks and cut keys.
• Inspect property for safety hazards and report to Facilities/Manager.
• Share on-call duty with Manager of Facilities and Service and be available in uniform.
• Monitor inventory of parts and cleaning supplies.

Compensation:

• The anticipated base pay range for this position is $22.00 - $23.00/hour.


• All service team members who participate in the on-call rotation receive an additional $3.00/hour incentive for all hours worked while on-call.


• Additional hourly pay for EPA, CPO, and OSHA certifications***

Requirements

• General knowledge in the following areas: Plumbing, Electrical, Pool Maintenance, HVAC, Carpentry, Landscape Maintenance, Appliances, and OSHA-related standards


• Knowledge of building systems


• Service orientation.


• Basic computer skills.


• Experience as apartment turn technician, make ready technician, or work order technician is highly desirable.


• A basic understanding of written and verbal English.

In This Role You Will:

• Assist in the completion of make ready units to Mark-Taylor standards and maintains adequate supply of make-ready units for the Community.


• Trouble-shoot, diagnose and correct minor air conditioning and/or heating failures, appliance repairs, electrical problems, plumbing problems, minor carpentry, and drywall repairs.


• Perform necessary repairs and preventative maintenance on vacant units as they become available.


• Perform daily pool care, assures pool is in proper chemical balance and area is free of safety concerns.


• Complete minor roof repairs, re-key locks, and cut keys


• Inspect the property for safety hazards that may pose a liability and corrects the hazard to inform the Manager of Facilities and Service of the hazard.


• Share on-call duty with Manager of Facilities and Service, and service team members and is readily available to go the property if needed and in uniform/badge.


• Assist in monitoring inventory of parts and cleaning supplies.
