Job Description

This job description provides an overview of the primary duties, responsibilities, minimum requirements, and conditions for the Service Technician Associate position. It is intended to give candidates a clear understanding of the role.

Primary Duties

1. Reads gas meters for residential, commercial, and industrial customers. Records readings for billing purposes.
2. Observes and reports all abnormal, dangerous, and/or damaged conditions pertaining to gas meters and adjacent areas.
3. Observes and reports atmospheric corrosion or damage.
4. May perform basic service and/or construction work as qualified and required.
5. Trains entry-level Meter Readers.

Other Duties/Responsibilities

1. Identifies, addresses, and reports safety and encroachment issues.
2. Responsible for the safe operation and inspection of assigned company vehicles and equipment.
3. Supports and adheres to company values, strategies, policies, and procedures, including core values of AtmoSpirit, Customer Service, Safety, and the Code of Conduct.
4. Familiarizes with the Safety Manual and completes all required safety training.

Minimum Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Must obtain and maintain Operator Qualifications (OQs) and classroom training.
• Ability to communicate effectively with customers and team members.
• Basic math skills for addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
• Basic computer skills for data entry and retrieval.
• Works outdoors and is physically capable of bending, stooping, squatting, kneeling, walking 500 feet, and ascending/descending a 22-inch step.
• Pre- and post-employment screenings, including drug testing and MVR checks, are required.
